Warm taupe and soft red orange — anchored with black — can either be very retro, or very modern, depending on your point of view. Either way, it looks pretty cool.
Feelin' fresh? Succulent hues of blue green and soft yellow green, with a punch of cactus flower red, are great for creating a lush, inviting and blissful atmosphere.

A psychedelic combination of navy blue, slate gray and bubblegum pink makes for a striking color palette in this Radiohead tribute poster showcased on 1978.com.mx. Surrealism suits Thom Yorke rather well, but then again we already knew that.
Remember when Saturday mornings were about getting up early to catch Thundercats, Voltron and He-Man on TV? Today's color scheme of nostalgic red, blue and orange will bring you back to those weekend days of cartoons and endless possibilities. Who wants to build a spaceship?
Illustrator Kristian Donaldson, owner of ProdigalNine.com, really knows how to use bold color to create a mood in his brilliant comic book-style illustrations. Highly saturated shades of greenish blue and yellowish green, offset by pure black, definitely grab your attention.
Light and dark shades of warm gray — with a punch of orange red straight out of a desert sunset — brings sophistication and savvy to the table in this color scheme.
Break out the brandy and turn on the telly! The warm brown and mulled shades of earthy red in this color scheme will keep you hangin' on to your holiday spirit, even if your family and friends are seven states away. The brandy won't hurt, either.
Orange and navy blue are kind of an odd couple. They work together, but you get the feeling that they argue a lot behind closed doors. They're getting along rather well with the teal background in this photo by Richard Roche (Gentle Pure Space).

I have a thing for design that uses flat shapes and minimal color schemes — throw in some creative typography and I'm lovin' it. Here we have a relaxed palette of baby blue, orangey yellow and white on a brown background. A bit of black in the type adds depth.

I don't know who created this, but the idea of partially cutting shapes out of paper and lifting them out to create a 3D scenario is pretty creative. I like the way the warm orange and deep reddish brown tones contrast against the seafoam background.
Thought I'd start things off with one of my favorite color schemes. The soothing organic green against the rich burnt orange and dark chocolate feels stylish and warm.
Color, that's what it's about! Here you'll find color schemes from my own private collection (I keep them in a climate controlled vault)... found images... color anthologies... even an article from time to time.
Feel free to use them for ideas or inspiration for your own design, website, artsy thing or living space. Or just enjoy the view.
